Interesting times..
January 26, 2008 by Ruthie
It seems that the legal profession have staggered back from their Christmas break to a winter of discontent. One instinctively knows that apocalypse looms when both the Bar and the Police go on strike. Both prosecution and defence united in their stand against the Man. Curiouser and curioser. We only need criminals now to start protesting at lack of decent representation and the hallucination would be complete.
Ruthie has had enough and decided to temporarily leave the country for another common law jurisdiction.
The problem is both the Bar and the Police are feeling un-loved, without affection.
Perhaps Dave-boy Cameron’s advice to hug a Hoodie should be applied.
If you see an un-loved member of the Bar or Police, give e’m a hug !!
January Blues
Absolutely. I’m designating next Monday as “hug a lawyer” day. Just try not to crumple the robes, OK?
Speaking of robes, I had the privilage to wear a robe for my M.A. Graduation today.
Treated myself to a cup of hot chocolate and off to bed.
Sweet dreams about Vermeer’s “The Concert” being discovered in a confession box.
Memo to huggable lawyers, refrain from letting your pick-pocket clients from participating !!
Congratulations on your MA. History of Art I hope.
Thanks for the warning about pick-pocket clients, however any pick pocket rumaging through the pockets of a criminal legal aid lawyer these days would be lucky to come out with £2.50 and a Guiness Bottle Top.
