Freedom of Information

Whilst Brucie awaits his fate, what of his Chambers?
It is not simply that Doughty Street Chambers prides itself on its commitment to human rights. Its members have also written articles explaining freedom of information, announced its victory for free speech, trumpeted its work protecting sources and published its very own statement of values (lest, presumably, it be thought that ordinary barristers have none).
For all those reasons I was sure that Chambers would have freely given out the information that Brucie had not lived up to its elevated values and, perhaps, an explanation of how they came to offer him a tenancy. What I found, dear Diary, was this. Perhaps they know something we do not?
I shall return to this topic, no doubt. I am currently puzzling over whether the Judge will abandon the usual form of words and tell Brucie that on the conveyer belt tonight is an immediate custodial sentence; and, of course, a cuddly Prison Officer.
Presumptious though it may be for a mere trainee solicitor to point this out, but Doughty Street’s
airbushing
had already been noted, along with the lingering google traces.
Less than one might expect of Doughty Street, to be sure.
Brucie was at DOUGHTY STREET? I am TRANSMOGRIFIED!!!
Many is the day when I have had cause to dream of a pupillage at such an esteemed chambers, but now…..
